Getting the Final Say on the Target Pillowfort Collection pt. 3

Welcome Back to Week Three (the final week) of my Love Affair with the New Target Pillowfort ™ Collection.  This week we are featuring the last of the  (4) Ready to Play Rooms.  And, if I can say anything about these rooms is that I love their use of color.  I am particularly a fan of the navy blue and green mixture, teal and orange and… the splashes of yellow.  I believe that I child’s bedroom should not only reflect their style but be upbeat and lively.  If you have clicked through to the Featured Rooms, I am sure that you have recognized by now that a lot of the rooms share some of the same furniture. So even though I picked through a lot of the good stuff already, I was still able to come up with some favorites.  That surprisingly have made their way on to my Shopping List.  Shock of all Shocks, lol.

Spring is Here + 3 Spring Prints

Spring is Here!!  And, I for one am super excited.  We had a pretty mild winter, but I am still ready for warmer weather, tulips, walks on the trail and just the all around joyous feeling that comes with the change of the season.  Once the Spring Cleaning is done and the Winter Clothes put away, next on my agenda is always decorating.  I am not sure how much of that I will get to this year.  But, at the very least, I thought that I would put up some Spring/Easter Printables.  I went a little crazy creating these.  So i thought that I would share them with you.  I hope this makes up for the lack of a Freebie Friday Post.  Print and Enjoy (Right Click on the Print Name Below Each Print- Download and Save!!)

This year’s IWD campaign is #BeBoldForChange .  Last year, organizations and individuals around the world supported the #PledgeForParity campaign and committed to help women and girls achieve their ambitions; challenge conscious and unconscious bias; call for gender-balanced leadership; value women and men’s contributions equally; and create inclusive flexible cultures. From awareness raising to concrete action, organizations rallied their people to pledge support to help forge gender parity on International Women’s Day (IWD) and beyond.  But the World Economic Forum predicts the gender gap won’t close entirely until 2186. This is too long to wait. Around the world, IWD can be an important catalyst and vehicle for driving greater change for women and moving closer to gender parity.  Source: IWD For more information on the fight for Gender Equality , visit the International Women’s Day website here.

ready for beach weather?

With just weeks before Spring Break, my mind is filled with thoughts of warmer weather, fruity cocktails, lump crab cakes, fresh pedicures and cute girly flip flops. But, until Mother Nature graces us with those much anticipated days, I have started to pull out my Spring Decor.  My Forsythia wreath is already gracing the Front Door and  I’m already thinking ahead to what this Easter’s Tablescape will look like.

Still Crushing on the Target Pillowfort Collection pt.2

Welcome Back to Week Two of my Love Affair with the New Target Pillowfort ™ Collection.  This week’s (4) Ready to Play Rooms are just as impressive as the ones featured last week.  Once again, I had a hard time choosing my favorites pieces, but I have included the links to each room so that you can decide what your favorites are.  Target designed the Pillowfort™ Collection to be Gender Neutral.  There are several pieces within the collection that can be used in any child’s room, regardless of gender and depending strictly on their personal style preference.  Stay Tuned Next Friday for our Final Post on the last 4 Rooms.

Read Across America + Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

FOSTER A LOVE OF READING IN YOUR LITTLE ONES ON READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY.

Hats off to Reading - Read Across America - Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Clickable Photo Source

It’s Dr. Suess’s birthday today, as well as Read Across America Day, a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd.  Reading has always been one of my favorite past times, and one that I have enjoyed passing on to my children. Today is Pajama Day for my girls in honor of Read Across America.  As much I don’t love pajama day because I always worry they aren’t warm enough.  I am up for anything that makes reading something that they can look forward to.

The Purpose of Read Across America is to motivate children to read.  It is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school. (source: NEA.org)

I am sure most of the little ones will come home buzzing about Dr. Seuss and reading.  Keep the momentum going and help  them decorate a cupcake for Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!! Download your Coloring Sheet here!!

What is your favorite Dr. Seuss Book?  Our favorites are of course Green Eggs and Ham, Oh The Places You Will Go.  and And to think that I saw it on Blueberry Street.
